The Drake of Laguna Beach would not be where "Great Food Meets Great Live Music" without its Executive Chef and Partner Paul Gstrein.

His culinary experience began in the Austrian Alps at his family owned and operated hotel and restaurant of 400 years. Chef Gstrein continued his long-standing family tradition while training at Villa Blanco Culinary School in Innsbruck, Austria before moving to the U.S. at age 21.

His culinary prowess landed him at renowned restaurants including Wolfgang Puck's Spago of Beverly Hills, Charlie Trotter's of Chicago, Bradley Ogden's Lark Creek Inn of Marin County, and Mark Peel's Campanile of Los Angeles.
